Job summary

CORT Furniture Rental is seeking a full-time Distribution Manager for the Capitol Heights, MD facility. You will oversee all warehouse operations, lead managers, optimize labor and delivery, ensure safety standards, and drive efficiency.

The role is onsite, with salary range $80,000–$90,000 per year, Monday–Friday schedule, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) with match, paid leave, disability and life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution management.
• Ability to lift 100+ pounds and move furniture as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily Operational Planning: Plans and adjusts daily workload for warehouse teams to meet business demands, audits, cycle counts, and safety compliance.
• Routing, Scheduling & Dispatching: Schedules deliveries and labor hours, maintains availability, and routes trucks efficiently.
• Team Leadership: Coaches, trains, and motivates staff; manages performance and fosters accountability.
• Interviewing and Onboarding: Participates in recruitment and training of warehouse personnel.
• Inventory and Asset Management: Oversees inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and movement of goods; ensures compliance with Days in Location goals.
• Equipment Oversight: Manages warehouse equipment and safety gear; coordinates with vendors for servicing.
• Budgeting, Forecasting and Cost Control: Manage and forecast warehouse and payroll costs; monitor expenditures and drive efficiency.
• Safety and Compliance: Leads safety initiatives, conducts audits, ensures adherence to standards.
• Customer Service and Issue Resolution: Acts as escalation point for customer issues; collaborates with internal teams.
• Administrative Duties: Manages payroll and reporting; tracks KPIs for decision-making.
• Project Management: Leads warehouse improvement projects; layout optimization and inventory reorganization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interfaces with sales, asset management, and customer service teams.
