Job summary

The Town of Clayton is seeking a Warehouse Coordinator for the Central Warehouse in Clayton, NC. The position focuses on efficient storage, asset and inventory control, and the receipt of items into an automated system (City Works).

Responsibilities include coordinating with departments, vendors, and performing periodic inventories, operating forklift equipment, serving walk-in customers, and handling surplus property dispositions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of central warehouse operations and inventory control.
• Proficiency with purchasing and receiving processes.
• Ability to document and track assets and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Arranges storekeeping of goods to optimize safekeeping and space.
• Works with departments to ensure inventory control in department vehicles.
• Documents receipt into City Works (assets, receipt, inventory).
• Analyzes inventory movement and suggests reorder points.
• Establishes reorder points and canvasses vendor quotes.
• Conducts periodic physical inventories.
• Operates warehouse equipment and vehicles including trucks and forklifts.
• Serves walk-in customers and assigns charges to departments.
• Manages surplus property inventory and disposition documentation.
• Responds to inquiries and reports shortages or damages.
