Job summary

Matson Navigation Company, Inc is seeking a Vessel Engineering Manager in Oakland to provide leadership for vessel M&R, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will drive maintenance planning, budgeting, and reporting while coordinating with Port Engineers and the Director of Engineering.

The role requires extensive engineering expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strong communication skills to lead a diverse team aboard containerships and shore staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed USCG Chief Engineer with Unlimited Steam & Motor preferences.
• Experience in managing vessel maintenance and repair for containerships.
• Proficient with NSE, MS Project, Excel and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vessel maintenance and repair programs, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Manage budgets, expenditures, and financial reporting for vessels.
• Coordinate schedules, planning, and performance reporting with stakeholders.
