Job summary

First Interstate Bank is seeking a Trust Officer II to manage a portfolio of client accounts and provide comprehensive trust and estate planning services. You will coordinate with Wealth Advisors and legal/tax professionals to ensure compliant, personalized financial plans.

The role emphasizes onboarding, account maintenance, and strong client relationships in a fast-paced banking environment at Watertown or Sioux Falls branches.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in trust administration, estate planning or related field, managing a complex mix of Agencies, IRAs and Trust accounts.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and administers a full book of existing accounts in compliance with bank policies, state laws, and regulations.
• Administers trust accounts and interprets trust agreements and related documents.
• Assists in administration of estates, including marshalling and distributing assets and resolving claims.
• Oversees onboarding and termination of accounts.
• Reviews and maintains familiarity with account details, tax status, risk tolerances, and investment objectives.
• Coordinates with legal and tax professionals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
