Job summary

Gallagher's Risk Placement Services (RPS) Transportation team seeks an underwriting professional to build broker relationships, underwrite transportation and commercial auto portfolios, and drive profitable growth through sound risk decisions.

The role collaborates with retail agents and carrier partners to deliver tailored coverage solutions, monitor market trends, and contribute to a high-performance, learning-focused culture within Gallagher.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
Detail oriented; strong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Underwrite new and renewal transportation and commercial auto business within established authority.
Evaluate risk characteristics, pricing, coverage structures, and policy terms to ensure profitable growth.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail agents and agency partners.
Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to secure new business opportunities.
Analyze loss history, financial information, and underwriting data to make sound risk decisions.
Collaborate with carrier partners to identify coverage solutions for transportation-related exposures.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and transportation industry developments.
