Job summary

GEODIS in Sparks, NV is seeking a Transportation Planner to consolidate client orders, plan loads and assign carriers using the Transportation Management System (TMS). You will optimize routing and scheduling across transportation modes, ensuring compliance with client expectations and timely shipments.

You will analyze carrier performance, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and participate in client QBRs.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training.
Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or coordinator role.
Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Experience with optimization tools preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel.

Responsibilities

Consolidates client orders into optimal load profiles and assigns carriers using the TMS.
Responsible for load planning, optimization, routing and scheduling of all transportation modes.
Develops and implements system parameters driving load assignments and bookings.
Responds to client needs by emails, calls, tracking shipments.
Serves as daily point of contact for client and issue resolution.
Negotiate with carriers daily within client parameters.
Create, analyze and present financial and service reports to clients.
Lead meetings with client and GEODIS leadership; participate in QBRs.
