Job summary

Carlex Glass Manufacturing in Troy, MI seeks a Corporate Transportation & Logistics Strategy Manager to orchestrate end-to-end movement of materials for OE and aftermarket businesses. Partner with MP&L leaders to convert strategy into actionable plans and ensure shipments are efficient, compliant, and cost-effective.

You will lead freight spend reviews, bid competitive rates, coordinate with plants and suppliers, and prepare monthly accruals and reporting. Travel up to 75% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
• 10+ years in the logistics industry.
• 5+ years within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Deep knowledge of government regulations impacting supply chains.
• Demonstrated strategic planning and execution capability.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% to Carlex facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute short- and long-range logistics strategies across Carlex.
• Manage total logistics spend, performance reporting, and annual freight estimates.
• Direct 3rd-party logistics partners and oversee competitive bids.
• Negotiate transportation and logistics costs; optimize routes with plants and suppliers.
• Define and track KPIs for supply chain performance; launch savings initiatives.
• Submit monthly freight accruals and supervise freight payments.
• Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal transportation regulations.
• Provide cost inputs for new production quotes via an inter-company calculator.
• Monitor SOP/EOP milestones and part transfers to adjust networks.
• Oversee trade advisor and broker activities for US import/export compliance.
