Job summary

Saddle Creek Logistics Services in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a Senior Transportation Manager to lead daily operations, client relationships, and strategic plans. This role directs a team of Supervisors and hourly staff to meet service metrics and drive profitable growth.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in transportation/logistics with 8–10 years’ experience, plus expertise in DOT/FMCSA regulations, budgets, and fleet management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; HS diploma accepted with experience.
• 8-10 years’ experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
• 5 years’ experience in dispatch and fleet operations.
• Proficient knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret P&Ls and reports.
• Strong knowledge of budgets, logistics networks, 3PL partnerships, carrier sourcing, and fleet management.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information clearly to managers, clients, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic policies to drive profitable growth and meet company goals.
• Manage departmental budget and P&L to keep expenses within plan.
• Lead and develop a team of supervisors and hourly associates.
• Become a systems super user and drive efficiencies through systems.
• Establish a Lean culture and deliver measurable improvements.
• Collaborate with warehousing, transportation, and support teams to ensure flawless execution.
• Build strong relationships with partners, clients, contractors and vendors.
• Assist with receivables/payables to maintain clean financials.
• Prepare, process, and retain reports and records for transportation operations.
• Direct supervise and evaluate staff; hire, train, and assign work as needed.
