Job summary

Saddle Creek Logistics Services seeks a Senior Transportation Manager to lead daily operations, client relationships, and performance against service metrics. You will head a team of Supervisors and hourly staff, driving Lean improvements and systemic efficiency.

The role emphasizes budget control, P&L oversight, and strong DOT/FMCSA compliance, with a focus on delivering profitable growth and exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; strong logistics background required.
• 8–10 years' experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management with inbound/outbound oversight.
• 5 years' experience with dispatch and fleet operations.
• Proficient knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and regulatory reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret P&Ls and financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic policies to drive profitable growth and meet goals.
• Manage departmental budget and P&L, ensuring expenses align with the operating plan.
• Lead and develop a team of supervisors and hourly associates; ensure policy adherence.
• Serve as a systems super user; drive efficiencies through Lean culture and improvements.
• Collaborate with warehousing, transportation, and support teams to deliver flawless client service.
• Establish relationships with partners, clients, contractors, and vendors supporting core values.
• Assist with administrative duties to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare, process, distribute and retain transportation reports and records.
• Direct supervision duties including hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
