Job summary

SES is hiring a Transportation Compliance Manager in West Chester, OH. You will lead the DOT and PHMSA compliance program, manage two specialists, and collaborate with field leadership while traveling to SES locations.

The role requires strong root-cause analysis, bold corrective action planning, and extensive knowledge of DOT/PHMSA rules. This is a leadership position with field-facing responsibilities and travel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant transportation compliance experience, including experience with hazardous materials (PHMSA).
• Prior people-management experience (this role manages 2 direct reports).
• Working knowledge of driver qualification files, CDL/medical qualifications, MVR monitoring, the FMCSA Clearinghouse, drug and alcohol testing (DOT Part 40), hours of service, ELD auditing, CSA/SMS scoring, DataQs, and vehicle maintenance/registration compliance.
• Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing field/branch leadership.
• Strong root cause analysis and corrective action planning skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 50%, including field visits and periodic overnight travel.
• Based at or able to work from the West Chester, OH corporate office.

Responsibilities

• DOT Compliance Oversight: direct two specialists and oversee driver qualifications, FMCSA/PHMSA requirements, and audits.
• Develop and maintain transportation compliance strategy aligned with DOT requirements and company growth.
• Lead corrective action planning and training for field leadership and drivers.
• PHMSA compliance: registration, hazmat papers, and training oversight.
• Field reviews across SES locations with travel, ensuring effective corrective actions.
• Mergers & Acquisitions: integrate acquired operations into the compliance program.
• Reporting: track crashes, inspections, HOS, driver files, maintenance, and audit readiness.
