Job summary

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Transportation & Citywide Projects to oversee stakeholder engagement across citywide initiatives. You will liaise with City Council staff and City agencies, advising senior leaders on policy recommendations to advance NYCEDC priorities.

The role requires collaboration with EDC teams, public outreach strategy development, and coordination of transportation projects including the Greenway and Red Hook

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; political science, urban planning or related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience working with elected officials, public agencies, and/or community-based organizations.
• Collaborative approach and experience working within interdisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in transportation, project financing, and land use policy.
• Ability to travel within NYC and attend evening/weekend meetings; valid driver’s license preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite; NYC residency required within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Create public, elected official, stakeholder engagement, and multi-faceted communications strategies with guidance from leadership.
• Support a portfolio of cross-departmental or cross-agency projects and track progress of public commitments.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders, establish trust, and manage up as needed.
• Lead engagement on key NYCEDC projects across transportation and related portfolios; coordinate with DOT as required.
• Prepare presentations, memos, and materials for CH, officials, stakeholders, and internal staff.
• Coordinate all letters of support and manage transportation-related grant applications and admin plans.
• Coordinate Red Hook engagement related to traffic and port facilities; build partnerships with local groups.
