Job summary

1898 & Co. is seeking a Transmission Planning Consultant to perform advanced studies and economic analyses for North American grid projects. You will evaluate regulatory conditions, apply industry standards, and prepare technical reports for clients.

The role requires experience with power system planning and software tools, collaboration with engineers, and the ability to travel to client sites across regions. PE license preferred and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience with electric utility planning or consulting.
• Experience with power system studies and regional standards.
• Proficiency with major planning software (PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, Promod).
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform power flow, transient stability, and other studies.
• Apply NERC/FERC/regional requirements to analyses.
• Develop technical reports and client presentations.
• Support project managers with client deliverables.
• Lead or mentor junior analysts on studies.
