Job summary

Macquarie Global Services seeks a technical accounting professional to support new transactions across Commodities and Global Markets. You will provide advisory on accounting treatment for new products and complex restructures while coordinating with the FMG to manage risks and communicate judgments.

The role requires CPA qualification or equivalent, experience in banking/financial services, and the ability to train stakeholders on accounting updates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting advisory or transaction advisory in banking/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 and financial instruments.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to train on accounting updates.
• Commercial mindset translating accounting theory into commercially viable answers.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with front office and senior management to identify opportunities for more efficient outcomes.
• Advise on accounting treatment for new products, restructures and complex transactions.
• Coordinate with Financial Management Group to assess risks and communicate accounting judgments.
• Challenge existing accounting treatment and provide recommendations in response to accounting developments.
