Job summary

Macquarie Global Services seeks a technical accounting professional to support new transactions across Commodities and Global Markets. You will provide advisory on accounting treatment for new products and complex restructures while coordinating with the FMG to manage risks and communicate judgments.

The role requires CPA qualification or equivalent, experience in banking/financial services, and the ability to train stakeholders on accounting updates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

About the Role

Be part of a dynamic team responsible for supporting new transactions across Macquarie's Commodities and Global Markets businesses. Our team provides technical accounting oversight and advisory on new and complex transactions, ensuring compliant, audit‑defensible outcomes while enabling commercial deal execution.

Responsibilities

In this role you will partner with front office and senior management to identify, communicate and manage potential opportunities for more efficient outcomes. You will use your technical accounting expertise to advise on the accounting treatment for new products, restructures and complex transactions. Additionally, you will coordinate within our Financial Management Group to assess and manage risks arising from new proposals, understand and communicate accounting judgements, challenge existing accounting treatment and provide recommendations in response to accounting developments.

Compensation

Salary range: $125,000 – $150,000 per year. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.

Qualifications

• CPA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in an accounting advisory or transaction advisory role, with a focus on banking and financial services and preferably commodities experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 and financial instruments is required.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to conduct training on accounting updates and convey complex accounting issues to varying types of stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset, translating accounting theory into commercially viable answers.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment, prioritizing and managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
