Job summary

All Aviation Jobs seeks an Operations Manager to lead vessel, rail, yard and gate operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight to maximize safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness at the Long Beach terminal.

You will supervise ILWU clerks and foremen, schedule labor, forecast costs and coordinate with the ITS Management team to meet long-range goals and policies. Requires union-labor experience and strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily assignments for ILWU supervisory staff.
• Determine labor needs per shift and enforce agreements.
• Coordinate Marine/Yard/Rail operations execution.
• Develop weekly operations strategy and tactics.
• Manage vessel berths, cargo sequencing and scheduling.
• Communicate with customers and forecast weekly costs.
• Oversee attendance, overtime and payroll adjustments.
• Make operational decisions to optimize labor efficiency.
• Promote safety compliance per PMA, PCMSC and OSHA.
• Handle grievances and labor relations; manage terminations.
