Job summary

Controlled Environments Company (CEC) is seeking a Technical Buyer to manage new product requests, ad hoc sourcing, and cost-saving initiatives across multiple commodities. You will work with suppliers to secure sources, improve lead-times, and deliver solutions for the business.

The ideal candidate has a background in supply chain or sourcing, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to interpret technical information while operating on-site in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or a relevant field is preferred.
• Background in supply chain or sourcing is advantageous.
• Experience in supplier evaluation, negotiation and selection.
• Strong organizational and administration skills.
• Ability to absorb technical information about products.
• Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities.
• Flexible, proactive attitude with strategic thinking.
• Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office; SAP ERP experience is highly desirable.
• Team player who can meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Strategic sourcing of products and suppliers to support open enquiries.
• Support sales staff with technical queries and customer solutions.
• Ensure timely turnaround on all customer enquiries for the best service.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to reduce sourcing costs and add value for customers.
• Conduct market and spend analysis to drive cost savings and supplier improvements.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships for quality and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximize business opportunities.
• Manage tender enquiries and contract negotiations.
• Work within a dynamic team to achieve company goals.
