Job summary

BRG is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join the Controller organization. You will evaluate and establish positions on complex accounting matters, partner with executives, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting, and drive scalable processes.

The role is project-driven with exposure to strategic initiatives, including policy development and evolving standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and complex topics (e.g., equity, leases, M&A).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior stakeholders.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret new and evolving accounting standards, assessing their impact on the organization and leading implementation efforts
• Develop and formally document the company’s position on complex technical accounting issues, including preparation of supporting memoranda
• Present technical accounting conclusions to senior leadership, external auditors, and other key stakeholders
• Serve as the primary accounting lead for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions
• Own and continuously refine the company’s global accounting policies to ensure consistency and compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Act as a key internal consultant to cross-functional teams, including Tax, FP&A, and General Ledger, on technical accounting matters
• Oversee accounting for complex areas such as stock-based compensation and lease accounting, including related process improvements
• Partner with financial reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely issuance of GAAP-compliant financial statements across global entities
• Support audit processes by coordinating technical accounting positions and responding to auditor inquiriesDrive process improvements and scalability initiatives within technical accounting and broader controllership functions
