Job summary

Carolina PRG, partnering with a large publicly traded organization headquartered in Charlotte, seeks a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting to build and lead a new function. You will advise senior leadership on complex U.S.

GAAP issues, develop policies, and shape accounting controls across the business. You will establish best practices, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and build a scalable technical accounting capability that enhances financial reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• CPA license active and in good standing.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong technical accounting expertise.
• Experience with public company accounting and complex transactions.
• Big 4 or large public accounting background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on complex U.S. GAAP matters.
• Lead technical accounting research and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Internal Audit, and external auditors to evaluate implications of major decisions.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Strengthen internal controls and support remediation for accurate financial reporting.
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements and lead implementation efforts.
• Identify opportunities to automate technical accounting processes and reporting workflows.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technical accounting team.
