Job summary

BMC Software is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to lead external financial reporting, technical accounting research, and documentation. You will supervise the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst and collaborate with treasury, tax, regional accounting, shared services, HR, and legal to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role requires a CPA and 5+ years of experience in a publicly traded corporate environment or Big 4, with strong GAAP knowledge and excellent

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting and technical accounting.
Experience with SEC reporting, controls, and external auditors.
Strong GAAP knowledge and technical research skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with cross-functional collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of external financial reporting and presentations for investor/lender packages and financial statements.
Oversee corporate accounting functions including compensation, contingencies, and leases; document complex transactions.
Lead technical research and documentation for significant transactions (equity/debt offerings, M&A, complex leases).
Support M&A accounting diligence, purchase accounting, and integration from a technical perspective.
Implement new accounting pronouncements and ensure internal control compliance and process improvements.
