Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a senior professional to lead governance programs for security policies and standards, aligning with regulatory requirements such as NERC CIP, SOX, and NIST. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least 8 years of experience in security and IT or OT related fields.
• Five years of experience in a GRC discipline.
• Five years of work in a Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) function in a highly regulated environment may substitute for up to 18 months experience.
• Proven success implementing security policies, standards, and/or controls.
• Ability to define strategy and translate it into actionable plans impacting organizational change.
• Ability to work across the organization, building relationships and influencing peers and management through trust.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to drive discussions and influence decision making.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and implement new security policies and security standards, ensuring regulatory requirements and NIST frameworks are incorporated.
• Interpret regulatory obligations and translate complex requirements into clear policy language.
• Lead the governance program execution, including lifecycle management of security policies and standards.
• Maintain mapping of standards to frameworks and regulations within the eGRC platform.
• Provide governance metrics, reporting, and training to staff within the ESS Governance Program.
