Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Tax Manager in the USA to lead the income tax function, drive strategic tax initiatives, and partner with executives on mergers, acquisitions, and expansions. You will design tax strategies, oversee compliance, and mentor a growing tax team in a fast-paced environment.

This role emphasizes risk management, ASC 740 tuning, transfer pricing, tax technology, and cross-functional collaboration with finance, legal, and operations to align tax with business goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive tax experience with emphasis on corporate federal/state income tax and audit defense.
• Experience leading or managing a tax team.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and tax accounting principles.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and transfer pricing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and manage risk.
• Lead the preparation and timely filing of corporate income tax returns (federal, state, local).
• Oversee the income tax provision process and related disclosures.
• Monitor and respond to changing tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop the tax team and collaborate with finance, legal, and operations.
• Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors and authorities.
