Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead the company’s income tax function across federal, state, and local reporting. You will design tax strategies, oversee ASC 740, and partner with executives to ensure alignment with business goals in a fast-growth U.S. environment.

This role mentors a growing tax team, manages audits, supports R&D credits, and drives tax technology, process improvements, and risk management across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or JD preferred.
• 8+ years in corporate federal and state income tax with leadership experience.
• Experience in automotive or manufacturing a plus; ASC 740 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s income tax function across federal, state, and local filings.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize position and manage risk.
• Oversee ASC 740, quarterly provisions, and alignment with financial reporting.
• Monitor and advise on tax legislation; ensure SOX controls for tax processes.
• Manage R&D tax credit studies and transfer pricing documentation.
• Lead tax technology initiatives and drive process improvements.
• Mentor and develop the tax team; collaborate with executives on strategic decisions.
