Job summary

The Deputy Chief, Talent Acquisition at The School District of Philadelphia leads district-wide recruitment strategies across instructional, school-based, operational, and central office roles.

Reporting to the Chief Talent Officer, this executive directs recruitment pipelines, onboarding, analytics, and strategic partnerships to fill ~20,000 positions while ensuring compliance with all policies and bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Educational Leadership, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
• Eight years of full-time, paid, professional progressively responsible leadership experience in talent acquisition, human resources, workforce planning, or organizational leadership, five of which were supervising professional staff and has included experience leading large-scale recruitment operations in a complex organization, preferably a large urban school district or similarly complex public-sector environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops District-wide recruitment strategy for instructional, school-based, operational, and central office position.
• Leads workforce planning initiatives and forecasts staffing needs.
• Develops annual hiring plan; establishes recruitment priorities aligned to District goals.
• Provide executive oversight of teacher recruitment, school leader recruitment, central office recruitment, operations recruitment, hard-to-fill positions, executive searches, and internal mobility.
