Job summary

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Strategic Systems Engineer to support a Department of Defense intelligence customer, translating operational needs into rigorous engineering artifacts using DoDAF/UAF. You will decompose complex problems, identify technical solutions, and synthesize inputs from stakeholders across Services and Combatant Commands.

Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph is required; MBSE tools experience is a plus.

Brief Description

Engineering artifacts only move a program when they hold up in front of senior leaders and their technical staffs. The Red Gate Group is seeking a Strategic Systems Engineer to support a Department of Defense intelligence customer, translating operational needs and technical requirements into rigorous engineering artifacts for a joint intelligence capability while maintaining credibility with senior military and civilian leadership. You will develop engineering artifacts and architectural views that communicate system structure, behavior, and context using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).

You will decompose complex operational problems, identify technical solutions, and assess tradeoffs between competing approaches, asking probing questions to uncover unstated requirements and synthesizing inputs from stakeholders across the Services and Combatant Commands. You will also support capability based planning and analysis of alternatives through the defense acquisition lifecycle.

You Have

• 8+ years of systems engineering experience, including recent experience within the last 2 years. This experience requirement is firm and cannot be met through education or certifications.
• Master's degree in a related field, or one of the following in its place: an Associate's degree in a related field and 4 additional years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 additional years of relevant experience, or 6 additional years of relevant experience. The additional years used in place of the degree are on top of the 8 year experience requirement above, not counted within it.
• Proficiency with DoDAF and UAF
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current CI polygraph

Nice If You Have

• Cameo Systems Modeler or similar model based systems engineering tools
• Understanding of the defense acquisition process and how architecture products inform capability analysis
