Job summary

Specialized Recruiting Group in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Director of Supply Chain & Purchasing to lead multi-year procurement strategies, drive supplier negotiations, and optimize total cost of ownership across aerospace, tooling, or machining categories.

You will partner with Engineering, R&D, Quality and Product Development, oversee a procurement team, and ensure on-time delivery, cost reduction, and strong supplier partnerships in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience.
Experience in the Aerospace, Tooling or Precision Machining Industries is preferred.
Experience with International Purchasing strategies is preferred.
Strong experience with strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
Proven ability to drive productivity improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) strategies.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement multi-year procurement and category sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, service, and innovation.
Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, benchmarking initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies for assigned categories.
Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships while evaluating supplier performance through scorecards and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, R&D, Product Development, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support new product launches and business objectives.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through market analysis, alternative sourcing, and process improvements without compromising quality or service.
Provide leadership and direction to the procurement team while supporting departmental goals, budgets, and project execution.
Monitor market and economic trends affecting pricing, delivery, and supplier performance, while ensuring compliance and effective stakeholder communication.
