Supply Chain Manager | Aerospace Manufacturing | Orange County, CA

Summary

Our client, a well-established aerospace and defense manufacturer, is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to lead their purchasing team and drive day-to-day procurement, supplier, and inventory operations. This is a strong step for someone who has the fundamentals down and is building toward a Director-level supply chain role — you'll get direct exposure to strategy, cost-reduction ownership, and cross-functional leadership working alongside the Director of Supply Chain. This is not a placeholder role.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop a team of buyers, setting clear performance expectations and accountability
• Manage day-to-day purchasing operations to meet production and program requirements
• Own supplier relationships and performance — quality, delivery, capacity, and cost
• Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers to strengthen competitiveness and supply continuity
• Lead supplier negotiations within established commercial guidelines
• Execute the annual procurement cost-reduction plan and track savings performance
• Manage inventory levels, reorder points, safety stock, and replenishment parameters
• Identify and reduce exposure from excess, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory
• Serve as a key user for supply chain ERP functionality and data integrity

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, or materials management
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Demonstrated experience managing a purchasing team or function
• Track record of contributing to procurement cost reductions
• Strong ERP experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing

Nice to Have

• Background in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or another highly regulated environment
• Experience managing regional or global suppliers
• APICS/ASCM, CPSM, or equivalent supply chain certification
• Lean or Six Sigma experience
