Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to oversee inventory control, purchasing procedures, and supplier relationships across multiple manufacturing sites.

You will determine supply needs, supervise receiving, and drive continuously improving metrics with program managers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree with at least five years in contract manufacturing, especially electronics, plus proven supervisory and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of directly related experience in contract manufacturing industry. Electronics manufacturing experience a plus.
• Must have prior supervisory experience & strong people management skills.
• Must have significant experience with inventory control, logistics, materials requirement planning, supply chains, contract negotiations, and purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage, evaluate and coach team comprised of Buyers, Engineering Production Services, Quoting Specialist and Proposal Administrator.
• Develop team with established goals/metrics and track progress, with emphasis on professional development.
• Maintain inventory levels to ensure on-time production while minimizing on-hand inventory.
• Continually drive for increased inventory turns.
• Continue programs of exploration for new suppliers and processes to achieve optimal quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
• Provide management team with accurate and relevant data/metrics to drive continuous improvement and decision making.
• Remain current on industry trends, notifying relevant team members of potential issues/changes.
• Manage the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).
• Manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and track quality, price and delivery metrics.
• Modify processes and procedures for shipping, receiving, transport, and inventory control to reduce waste and increase throughput.
• Interface with Program Managers on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
• Ensure that company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials and department functions.
• Other duties as assigned.
