Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to develop, document and direct QA programs on large projects. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality standards are in place and compliance with national and international regulations.

Responsibilities include supplier risk analysis, assessments, SCAR management, and implementing improvements to reduce costs while maintaining high quality.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Detailed understanding of inspection methods and computer operations.
• Analytical ability to develop creative solutions to quality issues.
• Excellent communication and leadership to interface with suppliers and regulators.
• Able to work extended hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk analyses of assigned suppliers and implement mitigation plans.
• Conduct supplier assessments during onboarding or QA reviews.
• Review and approve supplier-provided compliance documents.
• Validate procurement quality requirements with suppliers.
• Manage SCAR process and drive containment and corrective actions.
• Identify design or process changes to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Develop and implement inspection/testing methods for products and equipment.
• Audit supplier quality management systems and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare technical documents and reports as needed.
• Communicate with suppliers, customers and regulators to resolve issues.
