Job summary

Reading Truck Body, LLC in Reading, PA, seeks a procurement and supplier quality leader to align the inbound supply chain, drive cost reductions, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to enhance cost competitiveness while maintaining quality.

The role includes PPAP qualification, supplier development, cross-functional program management, and Lean/Six Sigma exposure. Reading invites candidates with blueprint interpretation skills and a focus on performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in supplier quality or supplier development.
• Experience in Manufacturing or truck equipment industry.
• Cross-functional program management to qualify new components and reduce cost.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience for continuous improvement.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost reduction strategies to improve Reading's cost position.
• Interface with Procurement teams to prioritize supplier development and sourcing needs.
• Lead PPAP qualification ensuring supplier products meet requirements.
• Specify new or existing acceptance criteria with Eng and Quality.
• Resolve supplier quality issues and manage supplier performance metrics.
• Track supplier performance and support VA/VE initiatives.
• Source new technologies from qualified suppliers for product development.
• Coordinate sourcing opportunities in US and Low-Cost Countries.
