Caliberr Staffing seeks a hands-on Supplier Development Engineer based in Lake Orion, MI, or Springboro, OH. You will lead rapid root-cause analysis, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure supplier processes align with ISO9001 and TS16949 standards, supporting OEM customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5+ years overseeing a certified quality management system such as ISO or TS16949.
• 4+ years of continuous quality improvement in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and technical understanding.
• Automotive sector background; Powertrain/ electronics / battery experience preferred.
• Experience serving large OEMs in customer quality assurance roles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with component teams to prioritize development needs and reduce supply constraints.
• Manage supplier selection with rigorous qualification procedures.
• Evaluate supplier capacity and performance to meet quality, cost, delivery, and ISO/TS16949 standards.
• Utilize Lean methods and supplier scorecards to drive process improvements.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and publish scorecards to drive improvement.
• Provide guidance to Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to minimize waste and streamline new product introductions.
• Lead technical leadership during sourcing to ensure supplier capability.
• Direct root-cause investigations and cross-functional improvement projects.
• Oversee APQP, PPAP, and VA/VE initiatives to improve cost and quality.
• Perform validation audits for new suppliers and support APQP processes.
• Support product launches by coordinating with suppliers on milestones.
• Define process parameters to ensure supplier capabilities meet product requirements.
• Stay informed on manufacturing trends to maintain competitive quality.
