Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a Software Development Intern to join the Simulation and Test Solutions (STS) team in Mason, OH. You will contribute to Simcenter software development, focusing on flow, thermal, and structural simulations within an Agile-Scrum environment.

The role requires current enrollment in a CS/CE/ME/Aerospace program (Sophomore+), strong C++ skills, and familiarity with other languages. Hybrid work in Mason, OH with opportunities for mentorship and growth.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a university student (undergraduate or graduate).
• Pursuing Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering in good standing.
• Sophomore year or above required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in software development tasks within the STS organization.
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and prototype code.
• Develop, test, and document new code improvements.
• Support environment setup and maintenance for projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Development Intern to join our Simulation and Test Solutions (STS) organization. We create our Simcenter software products for computer-aided engineering. STS tackles flow simulation as well as thermal, structural, acoustic, and composite analysis. Our teams follow Agile-Scrum Software Development Lifecycle methodology framework which encourages teamwork and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Senior software and quality engineers will assist students in championing a variety of tasks such as:
• Gathering requirements from Stakeholders and prototyping new code
• Implementing new code changes
• Developing automated testing on project code
• Managing environment support
• Drafting design and coding documentation for future development expansion

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a university student (undergraduate or graduate) pursuing a degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering in their Sophomore year or above.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment from our Mason, OH office.
• Strong coding skills in C++, with knowledge in object-oriented concepts
• Commanding grasp of C#, Python, VBA, JavaScript, or Perl is beneficial
• Ability to write clean, robust, and maintainable code
• Demonstrate skills in design and programming
• Rapid learner in new development areas
• Dedicated to continuous improvement
• Actively promote a collaborative, team‑first working environment
• Demonstrate clear, effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Show a proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and outcomes

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
