Job summary

Siemens Digital Industries Software is recruiting for a Software Developer co-op in Huntsville, AL as part of the Spring 2027 Strategic Student Program. You will work in an Agile team on CFD thermal simulation software, contributing to code development, testing, and UX/UI collaboration.

The role is hybrid (in-office/remote) with a 40-hour work week, starting in Spring 2027. Ideal candidates are computer science/engineering students with strong coding skills in C#, WPF, and MVVM.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
  • Exposure to software development with experience in designing, coding, and debugging.
  • Interest or experience in UX/UI is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum development environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new software in C# using WPF and interface design features related to the next generation product solution.
  • Develop unit tests.
  • Conduct QA testing on new software as needed.
  • Develop and collaborate with cross-functional teams regarding the UX/UI of the software.

Simulation and Test Solutions (STS)
Fluids and Thermal

The Fluids & Thermal Division is seeking qualified candidates for our Software Developer co‑op position. Candidates will work within an Agile development team focused on developing an award‑winning CFD thermal simulation solution. Candidates must be able to work as an effective team member, contribute to team decisions, and support peers closely in the software development process.

As a co‑op working alongside our Mechanical Analysis team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new software in C# using WPF and interface design features related to the next generation product solution
  • Develop unit tests
  • Conduct QA testing on new software as needed
  • Develop and collaborate with cross‑functional teams regarding the User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) of the software
Organization Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
  • Position is eligible for hybrid work model (in‑office/remote) in our Huntsville, AL office or fully remote
  • Available to work 40 hours per week and arrive at work no later than 8:30 AM Central time.
    • One class may be taken in the afternoon or evening during each semester as long as work performance does not suffer. Classes cannot be taken in the morning hours.
  • Candidates should have exposure to software development with experience in designing, coding, and debugging.
  • Candidates with past experience and/or passion for User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI), preferred
  • Additional desirable knowledge:
    • Software development process in an Agile Scrum development environment
    • Knowledge of WPF and MVVM principles
    • Software development using Visual Studio and C#
    • Experience with using Git, Jira, and Bitbucket
    • Operating systems: Windows

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education.
