Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Director of Store Capital Projects to lead planning and execution of all stores projects, including remodels, capacity additions, and special projects. You will manage a team of managers, leads, and coordinators, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while optimizing processes and vendor relationships.

This role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic budgeting across a retail network.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in vendor management, project management and operational support preferably in a retail environment.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to influence and drive results through cross-functional partnerships
• Strong customer focus and continual process improvement
• Experience developing budgets, monthly forecasts and reporting
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Able to travel as required

Responsibilities

• Ensure installation and Operations activities are completed per the project timeline, on budget
• Ensure corporate tools, reporting, and schedules are executed; issues identified and fixed early
• Lead end-to-end Field processes including timelines, training, and manuals
• Prioritize and plan workload for the leadership team
• Develop annual budgets (including 5-year plan) and approve monthly forecasts; secure funding
• Travel to Ross and dd’s Discounts stores to oversee fixtures and execution
• Act as main contact for Store Operations Leadership with ongoing statuses
• Develop a high-performing team through development and performance management of direct reports
• Drive vendor sourcing and onboarding; manage vendor performance and contracts
• Sign off on communication plans to Stores and stakeholders
• Support Senior Director in strategy and priorities including tool creation for consistency
• Handle special projects as required
