Job summary

Ross Stores in California seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead construction projects from planning through grand opening, coordinating budgets and schedules while collaborating with multiple departments. Extensive travel is required to ensure timely project delivery.

This role interfaces with the VP and GVP as a senior advisor for construction, handles external consultants, and supports strategic planning for the Construction department, including budget governance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction.
• 7–10 years retail project/construction management experience.
• Excellent Word and Excel skills.
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to travel extensively.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High degree of reliability and organizational leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fees for architects, engineers and outside consultants.
• Bid and negotiate General Construction Contracts; manage budgets and schedules.
• Manage vendors and ensure delivery of items and schedules.
• Coordinate project with departments to ensure delivery.
• Keep VP/GVP informed of critical items affecting cost.
• Assist with payments, change orders and department communications.
• Maintain project files and capital expenditure tracking.
• Support strategic planning for the Construction department.
