Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide spectrum management support for CBP communications, surveillance, and tracking requirements.
  • Conduct daily review and processing of NTIA Spectrum Agendas to protect CBP records and allocation from interference or unauthorized use.
  • Create, monitor, and track proposals to renew frequency assignments due for 5-year review.
  • Participate in spectrum work for the Project Entrance and Evaluation Process (PEEP) and CBP's Tactical Communication service request process and Top Ten List.
  • Participate in Spectrum Record Consolidation—state-by-state records, verify use, equipment, and grid location; gather data to request NTIA record consolidations.
  • Address FCC spectrum auctions, international treaties, and spectrum band management impact on CBP spectrum-dependent wireless systems.
  • Support DHS JWPMO wireless program efforts—frequency planning, coordination, reuse, national processing, interference analysis, and intermodulation studies.
  • Utilize CBP spectrum tools and databases (Annex I, GMF, EL-CID, Spectrum XXI, IMP Calc, ICS Map Server, SpectrumE, HTZ Warfare).
  • Engage in NTIA IRAC and related subcommittees and ad hoc groups.
  • Review and analyze Federal STA requests from other agencies.
  • Contribute to CBP participation in Presidential, Congressional, and Federal spectrum initiatives.
  • Collaborate on interoperability with federal, state, and local law enforcement and emergency response bodies.
  • Perform intermodulation studies, propagation analyses, spectrum licensing, regulatory input, and coverage plotting.
