Job summary

Selby Jennings seeks an entrepreneurial banking professional to drive transaction execution, sourcing efforts, and overall firm growth for a boutique merchant banking advisory platform focused on SPACs, M&A, and capital raises.

Ideal candidates are Investment Banking Analysts, Private Equity Associates, or Investment Banking Associates with 2+ years of experience who thrive in a lean environment and contribute to business development and deal origination.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of investment banking experience preferred.
• Background in M&A, capital markets, technology banking, SPAC advisory, or related financial advisory environments.

Responsibilities

• Support SPAC, M&A, and capital raising engagements from inception through closing.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials.
• Develop management presentations, investor materials, and strategic positioning documents.
• Work closely with management teams, functioning as an extension of the company's internal finance and strategy team.
• Coordinate due diligence processes and assist with transaction structuring.
• Drive project management efforts across multiple concurrent mandates.
• Identify and source prospective transaction opportunities through VC, growth equity, and founder networks.
• Support outreach to investors, management teams, and strategic partners.
• Maintain relationships with venture funds and emerging technology ecosystems.
• Assist in evaluating prospective acquisition and SPAC opportunities.
• Contribute ideas to expand the firm's transaction pipeline.
