Cemex US in Houston, TX is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to manage commercial and contractual strategy for procurement across our U.S. manufacturing operations.

You will drive negotiations, develop strategies, and build supplier relationships to deliver cost savings and value through the lifecycle of contracts. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management.
• 6 years industrial procurement experience related to supply chain strategy and national negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate contracts and agreements. Develop strategies for goods and services based on market knowledge and business requirements.
• Develops negotiating strategy with input from internal customers; acts as key commercial expert during negotiations; primary contact for target suppliers.
• Negotiate legal and commercial terms to achieve optimal business results; identify key contract risks and mitigation strategies.
• Build strong working relationships with internal customers to understand requirements, drivers and timelines.
• Lead process improvements using financial analysis and Total Cost of Ownership modeling to reduce costs and add value.
• Take the lead in the implementation process; ensure negotiated terms are utilized and savings realized; promote procurement technologies.
