Job summary

Meijer Inc. seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to execute initiatives within a specific category, collaborate with stakeholders on data accuracy, and support procurement decisions across supplier networks. The role emphasizes data-driven insights and effective supplier relationships.

The candidate will help build spend databases, lead RFx events, and contribute to cost optimization through negotiation and strategic thinking. Michigan-based retailer with strong community focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain required.
• 1-3 years of experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, competitive price analysis, and purchasing.
• 3+ years of experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, competitive price analysis.
• Retail or consumer-facing industry experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and qualitative analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; SAP/Ariba experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collection, analysis, benchmarking and reporting of category and spend data.
• Develop and issue RFx documents.
• Lead basic to moderately complex sourcing events.
• Review contracts, pricing, purchase orders and service levels.
• Perform value analysis and total cost of ownership activities.
• Monitor and report savings to Strategic Sourcing Lead.
• Interact with stakeholders to develop service specification levels.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to develop sourcing strategies.
• Maintain and help build supplier relationships.
• Manage category management processes, supplier segmentation and scorecards.
