Strategic Sourcing Manager- Transportation

Position Purpose: The Strategic Sourcing Manager for Transportation will develop, execute, and manage sourcing initiatives. Responsibilities include end-to-end sourcing processes such as market analysis, bid strategy creation, leading sourcing events (RFP/RFI/RFQ), bid and supplier evaluation, negotiation strategy development, negotiations, supplier selection, contracting, and cost analysis. The role supports The Home Depot’s Transportation and Delivery networks (e.g., Truckload/Intermodal, Flatbed, LTL, Dray, Ocean, Parcel).

Key Responsibilities:

• Negotiate for products and services within the assigned category to ensure the lowest possible price.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans; collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes.
• Establish quality vendor relationships to support sourcing needs.
• Evaluate and, if necessary, terminate vendor relationships.
• Work with stores and other departments to determine sourcing needs, manage vendors, and resolve issues related to quality and delivery.
• Coordinate with purchasing operations to ensure smooth transition from deals to ongoing procurement, ensuring order accuracy and timely delivery.
• Identify and qualify vendors capable of meeting purchase requirements.

Management and Collaboration:

• Typically reports to a senior manager.
• Collaborates across multiple functions.
• Requires interpersonal skills for sensitive situations.

Travel and Physical Requirements:

• Overnight travel less than 10%.
• Mostly sedentary work with occasional lifting (<8 pounds).

Qualifications:

Minimum: 18+ years old, authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree, proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint, excellent communication, project management, negotiation skills, and knowledge of sourcing tools (e.g., Coupa, Keelvar).

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.

Additional Information:

Position is full-time, located in Atlanta, GA, with an employment salary range of $94,400 - $293,800.
