Job summary

Edwards Vacuum LLC in Basom, NY is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead sourcing of components for vacuum pumps, balancing quality, price, and delivery.

You will identify suppliers globally with local focus, negotiate Master Supply Agreements, and collaborate with engineering and production to support cost reductions and optimal purchasing plans.

Requires 8+ years in manufacturing/procurement, strong negotiation skills, and SAP/MRP experience. This is an on-site role at our Basom facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing or procurement in a production environment.
• Solid negotiation skills.
• Results focused with the ability to report on KPIs.
• Analyze and use critical thinking to identify root causes with data.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research new suppliers and sourcing opportunities globally, with a focus on local sourcing when feasible.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and production teams on material requirements.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with supplier base as escalation point of contact.
• Negotiate Master Supply Agreements with key suppliers per Company requirements.
• Use root-cause analysis to drive continuous improvement across quality, on-time delivery, cost, and working capital.
• Develop and implement commodity strategies to map current and future states.
• Support cost-reduction efforts via quoting, value engineering, and make-vs-buy analyses.
• Collaborate with Operational Purchasing to ensure optimized purchasing plans for production.
