Job summary

Edwards Vacuum, LLC in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Senior Operational Buyer to lead end-to-end procurement for PC Genesee manufacturing, ensuring material supply to production while optimizing cost and supplier performance.

You will mentor a team of Operational Buyers, coordinate with planning, engineering, and finance, and drive continuous improvement using SAP MM and lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing procurement or supply chain environment.
• Experience in direct and indirect procurement (hybrid).
• Strong SAP MM knowledge and experience in MRP-driven environments.
• Lean manufacturing principles and supply chain optimization knowledge.
• Experience with global suppliers in electronics, mechanical, and industrial components.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex supply disruptions.
• Supplier performance management and development経験.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operational procurement for PC Genesee manufacturing operations.
• Develop and implement supplier performance improvement plans (OTD, lead time, flexibility).
• Act as escalation point for critical supplier issues impacting production continuity.
• Lead regular business reviews with strategic suppliers and drive improvement initiatives.
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Drive reduction of supplier lead times and responsiveness to demand changes.
• Ensure compliance with SAP processes and internal controls.
• Coordinate with planning and production to align procurement with schedules.
• Manage supplier onboarding, development, and performance evaluation.
• Resolve invoicing, pricing, and payment discrepancies with finance.
• Support NPI by ensuring material readiness with minimal disruption.
• Lead and mentor Operational Buyers and drive procurement process improvements.
