Job summary

Atkore International is seeking a Sr. Buyer to lead procurement activities for the business unit, ensuring right products at right cost, quality, and timing while optimizing inventory and service levels.

You will analyze requisitions, place POs, manage days of inventory, coordinate supply plans, drive continuous improvement, and resolve accounts payable and receiving issues. A Bachelor's in Supply Chain or related field and 7–10 years purchasing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7–10 years of purchasing, supply chain, or materials planning experience.
• Advanced Excel with database/Excel file creation; SQL query ability preferred.
• Experience with MRP or supply planning software such as SAP or JDE.
• Job-Shop manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy and place POs to meet requirements at competitive costs, quality and lead-times.
• Accountable for inventory days on hand and align inventory strategies with updated supply plans.
• Communicate potential supply issues and coordinate issue resolution.
• Develop ideas to improve procurement, planning and operations; initiate Kaizens as needed.
• Identify and manage excess/obsolete product to minimize future issues.
• Resolve Accounts Payable and Receiving issues promptly.
