Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Sr. Buyer in Dallas, TX to manage procurement for the business unit, optimize inventory, and drive cost and lead-time improvements. The role requires strong experience in purchasing, supply planning, and ERP systems, with a focus on Kaizen and cross-functional coordination to support Atkore’s strategic objectives. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or other relevant fields preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management, materials planning, or related fields.
Advanced Excel skills with SQL query building experience preferred.
Experience with MRP or supply planning software such as SAP or JDE.
Experience in a Job-Shop manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy and place purchase orders to meet requirements at competitive costs, quality and lead-times.
Accountable for inventory days on hand for the business unit.
Ensure aligned inventory strategies are incorporated into updated supply plans.
Proactively communicate potential supply issues with the material supply, while leading and coordinating issue resolution.
Develop ideas and strategies to improve procurement, planning and operations efficiencies, initiate Kaizens as required.
Identify and manage excess and obsolete product with continuous improvement approach to minimize future causes.
Resolve Accounts Payable and Receiving issues in a timely manner.
