You will apply procurement best practices, manage supplier relationships, and guide projects that deliver measurable cost savings while aligning with Smithfield's business objectives. Negotiation and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated leadership or project management experience.
• Proven experience negotiating contracts across a broad range of corporate services.
• Strong experience applying strategic sourcing methodology and managing end-to-end sourcing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, or mentor others and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP.
• Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop Strategic Sourcing Plans: Build category strategies, source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance using total cost of ownership models.
• Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align sourcing strategies with business needs across departments.
• Lead Supplier Innovation & Improvement: Work with suppliers to implement continuous improvement and adopt emerging technologies.
• Identify and Execute Cost-Saving Initiatives: Collaborate with operations to implement cost-reduction programs.
• Lead Sourcing Projects: Oversee cross-functional teams through sourcing processes and project management initiatives.
• Build Strategic Stakeholder Relationships: Develop relationships with partners to identify opportunities and long-term strategies.
• Leadership: Foster a positive employee experience through development and coaching.
