Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to own and execute OpenAI’s category strategy for Professional Services. This is an experienced individual-contributor role for a high-velocity, hands-on sourcing operator who can set category priorities, own complex work end to end, exercise sound judgment, influence senior stakeholders, and build scalable category mechanisms in a rapidly growing organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or category management, with depth in Professional Services.
• Ability to own strategy end to end from intake to governance and renewals.
• Experience leading complex negotiations and balancing cost, speed, risk, and value.
• Knowledge of consulting, advisory, managed services, and project-based work dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Professional Services category strategy and execution roadmap.
• Manage multiple complex sourcing workstreams end to end with high throughput.
• Build partnerships with senior stakeholders and challenge service models to improve value.
• Lead negotiations and design master services agreements, SOWs, and pricing structures.
• Develop scalable category mechanisms, playbooks, and governance to enable speed.
• Strengthen supplier ecosystem with competitive sourcing and governance.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, People, and Extended Workforce to ensure compliance.
• Produce executive-ready reporting on pipeline health, savings, and risk.
