Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to own the category strategy for Professional Services—Human Data—and to operate as a hands-on sourcing operator in a fast-paced org. This role is based in San Francisco and offers a hybrid work model with relocation assistance.

The successful candidate will partner with Finance, Legal, People, Extended Workforce, and business teams to drive scalable category mechanisms, value realization, and risk management across a broad services portfolio.

Qualifications

8+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management.
Experience owning Professional Services category strategy end to end.
Proven ability to lead complex negotiations with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own and continuously evolve the Professional Services category strategy and execution roadmap.
Lead complex sourcing workstreams end to end across high-value engagements.
Partner with Finance, Legal, People, and Extended Workforce to align on commercial structures.
Produce executive-ready reporting on pipeline health, savings, and risk.
Drive disciplined follow-through with clear documentation and efficient processes.
Leverage AI to redesign sourcing workflows while maintaining human controls.
