Job summary

OpenAI seeks a Strategic Sourcing Leader to guide the Professional Services sourcing team, shaping category strategies and delivery plans. You’ll work with Finance, Legal, People, and Extended Workforce to drive outcomes and develop the team's judgement and independence.

You will oversee a broad portfolio from strategic advisory to high-volume SOWs, remaining hands-on in critical negotiations while enabling the team to own delivery at scale. Relocation assistance is offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in strategic sourcing or procurement.
• 5+ years people leadership with objective setting and delivery.
• Led complex services negotiations with credible alternatives.
• Experience with large multidisciplinary firms (Big Four, etc.).
• Broad exposure to finance, accounting, legal, healthcare or benefits services.
• Proven ability to translate category strategies into operating improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the team, set objectives, delegate with boundaries and review performance.
• Set portfolio strategy and roadmap, align with business objectives and risk.
• Manage pipeline and capacity across negotiations, governance, and SOWs.
• Lead critical negotiations and ensure high standards of commercial quality.
• Build playbooks, partner models and clear handovers with operations and contracts.
• Strengthen supplier relationships and manage performance and risk.
• Partner with Finance and Legal on spend visibility and contracts.
• Provide portfolio performance insight and drive delivery improvements.
• Engage senior stakeholders with clear options and recommendations.
• Adopt approved AI tools to enhance sourcing workflows and insights.
