Job summary

BNSF Railway in Fort Worth, TX invites applications for a Strategic Sourcing Summer Intern to dive into procurement and supply chain management within the transportation sector. Interns will engage in sourcing strategies, vendor management, negotiation, and cost-saving projects while working with experienced professionals.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience, a chance to impact procurement efficiency, and potential transition to a full-time Management Trainee after graduation.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
• GPA at least 2.75.
• Less than three (3) years of professional work experience (excl. internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree).
• Prior intern experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Supply Chain Management or Finance.
• Have or have held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management or Finance.

Responsibilities

• Interact with internal customers and suppliers regarding required specifications of pricing, availability, and delivery of ad hoc/non-catalog procurement requests.
• Perform necessary systematic corrective action on issues related to supplier purchase orders or contract non-compliance.
• Support service and material buyers with ad hoc reporting and special project assistance.
• Maintain contract management in the execution of accurate and timely agreements.

Bachelors or Graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Economics or similar
