You will manage requisitions, oversee recurring purchases, build a contract portfolio, negotiate awards, and monitor vendor performance, with a focus on cost efficiency and compliance with state and federal rules.

Qualifications

• 42 months' experience or 42 months' training in purchasing/procurement/sourcing to include experience in performing spend analysis, developing sourcing strategy & evaluating vendor performance.
• Undergraduate core in public or business administration, purchasing, materials management, contracting, acquisition management or logistics, supply chain management, operations management or other sourcing related field 18 months' experience or 18 months' training in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.
• Completion of graduate core in public or business administration, purchasing, materials management, contracting, acquisition management or logistics, supply chain management, operations management or other sourcing related field 6 months' experience or 6 months' training in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Research and plan purchasing strategies by reviewing historical buying patterns, understanding future needs, and coordinating with subject matter experts to determine the best approach for each project.
• You’ll assess requirements, develop timelines, and carry out steps that help ensure projects are completed smoothly and on schedule. You’ll conduct supply-chain market research, monitor vendor performance, and analyze trends to identify opportunities to improve pricing and consolidate buying power.
• You’ll oversee OOD’s recurring purchases, review and approve requisitions, and submit Requests to Purchase to the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.
