Job summary

Colonial Group in Mansfield, TX is seeking an Associate Category Manager to oversee supply chain activities for selected categories, drive supplier identification, sourcing, and spend optimization, and support new product development and inventory management.

You will analyze market conditions, develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and lead cross-functional teams to improve total cost of ownership. This role emphasizes cost control and supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field is required.
• Minimum of one year of procurement-related experience is required.
• C.P.M or C.P.I.M certification is a plus.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Experience working with overseas suppliers highly desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
• Demonstrated supplier management and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the company and suppliers.
• Works effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Drives for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Optimize cost for assigned products, with emphasis on cost reduction and margin improvement.
• Develop sourcing strategies.
• Develop multi-year commodity plans to optimize spend.
• Oversee all activities related to management of assigned spend, from intent to purchase through delivery.
• Recruit, maintain, and manage world-class suppliers with focus on total cost of ownership improvement.
• Plan, organize, direct, control, and communicate all strategic sourcing activities related to assigned spend.
• Develop strategies for spend analysis.
• Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness and specifications.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions to advise on material availability.
• Establish countermeasures to negative market trends and missed objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
